We welcome independent, developmentally ready, toilet training in process children to come on their own starting at age 2 1/2 – 3 for the morning session from 9:00 to 12:00.
Here is what we need to see from your child to enroll them:
- Impulse control.
- Follow directions.
- Come when called.
- Make eye contact.
- Take teacher’s hand.
- Don’t grab.
- Leave animals alone when asked.
- No screaming and/or screeching.
- No longer putting things into mouths

Until you child is toilet training and developmentally ready join us once or twice a week starting at one hour per visit and increasing your time time until your young one is ready!

Program & Schedule
Half Days are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m and are open to 2.0 – 3 year olds.
Full School Days are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 3 – 6 year olds. Sometimes 2.0 year olds are ready if they have previously been in care.
Afternoon Half Days from 12:45 – 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday are for enrichment for ongoing Oakhaven students for transitional kindergarten, and kindergarten.
Transitional-Kindergarteners: We recommend 4 – 5 full, 9:00 – 2:30, days per week to excel in Kindergarten.
Kindergarten: 5 full days, 9:00 – 3:30.
Extended care is available from 8:30 till 5:00 Mondays through Thursdays.
We also offer an Afternoon Enrichment Program for transitional kindergarteners, kindergarteners..
All ages are encouraged to work up to attending 5 days per week for repetition with the materials, the continuity of the curriculum and the cohesion of the community.
Younger children, aged 2.0 – 3 years, start out attending 2 or 3 mornings per week until they are ready for staying until 2:30 or later.
Here is what we need to see from you child for them to stay till 2:30:
- In the process of toilet training.
- Keeps busy on their own initiative: gets activities out and puts work away on own.
- Sits for entire meals.
- Able to stay lying down for rest time, 30 minutes.
Children aged three years are recommended to come three days per week and are eligible to stay the full school day if ready.
Four year olds may begin coming three full days and are recommended to increase to four to five days per week by their transitional kindergarten year.
Children up to age 4 years must show us they are able to be independent around the pool and follow the pool rules and agenda before qualifying for our extended day program.
Enrollment Procedure
Come visit! Bring your child and partner/spouse to make sure we are a match. A non refundable $75 enrollment fee holds you child’s space. Once your enrollment fee is paid you will receive your enrollment packet and the guidelines for new student visits. You have one week to fill out your packet, return it and set up your child’s visits. If you do not return the packet and schedule your child’s visits within a week you will lose your child’s space.
Children who are enrolling for our year round or school year are encouraged to complete student visits before final enrollment. This gives us both time to be sure we are a match and acclimate your child to daily life here at Oakhaven. Visits are scheduled on the same day once per week for a month. Parents/Caregivers stay less and less until your child is ready to be here on their own.
Openings are filled with preference given to continuing year round students and siblings followed by school year students. The remainder are filled on a first come first served basis in conjunction with the openings available and the schedule needs of the incoming child. Preferred days cannot be guaranteed.
For 3 day per week students you must include a Monday or a Friday. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday only combos are not available.
Please note that we are not able to accommodate any nut allergies.
Children best benefit from our program when enrolled for two or more years.
An annual tuition is paid in 10 equal prorated monthly installments, August 15, 2023 – May 15, 2024.

Oakhaven Montessori School is closed for the following breaks: legal holidays, 1 week in early and late summer, 3 days at Thanksgiving, 1 weeks in spring. 2 weeks in winter. We are also closed for 3 parent teacher conference days, 5 TBA days emergency closure days..
